Permit Info
A USDA 526 permit is required for receiving certain plant pest species from Benzon Research, even if the pest is native to your state.
USDA APHIS 526 Permit information and applications can be found HERE.
Once approved, your permit is delivered to you as a PDF file that you can submit to us and we will keep on file. We are required to reference your permit number on every shipment.
PLEASE NOTE: The permit application and approval can take a long time! We recommend that you plan for several months, at the soonest. For more accurate information, or to discuss issues with a specific application, please contact APHIS PPQ via email (pest.permits@aphis.usda.gov).
The following crop pest species currently DO NOT require an APHIS PPQ permit for interstate shipment:
Black cutworm, Agrotis ipsilon
Soybean looper, Chrysodeixis includens
Diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella (both strains)
Beet armyworm, Spodoptera exigua
Fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda
Cabbage looper, Trichoplusia ni
The mosquitoes, flies, and cockroaches we make available for purchase similarly DO NOT require an APHIS PPQ or other federal government permit for laboratory (us) to laboratory (you) transfer.
At this time, we are aware that California requires prior written permission to import exotic mosquitoes into that state. Please contact us for details.
